This fund gives grants to not-for-profit organisations for services and projects that improve leadership and strengthen the capability and capacity of New Zealand’s diverse community and voluntary sector.

This fund is open for applications now.

The Support for Volunteering Fund provides grants for community projects. It also provides grants to support activities run by regional volunteer centres and Volunteering New Zealand.

Mahi aroha/volunteering follows the principles of tikanga, to preserve māna and rangatiratanga rather than for financial or personal reward. This fund recognises the special meaning for Māori, Pacific and ethnic communities. It caters for the different approaches to volunteering and needs of different sectors. Funding is available for Māori organisations for that will promote and support mahi aroha.
